I'm holding you to it.

A fortune-cookie fortune I just got, and think I'll keep:

"A way out of a financial mess is discovered as if by magic!"

Well, that would be a start.

Beach Notes

Addition to yesterday's that I forgot at the time ....

Oh, and dude sitting way over there? I can smell your cigar way over HERE.

I suppose ordinances banning cigar smoking on the beach are too much to hope for.

Kinda Moody

Maybe it's the sleep deficit from working graveyard, maybe it's the uncertainty about work, maybe it's the hormones, but while sitting on the beach after work this morning, I started going back into a scary mind place I hadn't been to in a while. I don't want to talk about the details, I just thought you should know.

See, this is why I watch too much TV. Left without distractions, my brain turns on me.

Beach Notes

Kudos
To you in the old-lady tankini (like mine, but old-ladier) who got out of your beach chair with the top rolled up to expose your belly. Even I wouldn't have been ballsy enough to do that, especially while alone, but you go, girl!

Here's how weird *I* am.

On "Today" this morning, Al Roker was talking about Hurricane Dolly, and I thought he was saying, "Hurricane Dali."

Did I forget Bastille Day AGAIN?

I leave the reasons to the reader's imagination.

Weird, Wild Stuff

The weather's been nuts here lately. My current weekday work has me driving on the highway around 4:30 p.m., in the thick of afternoon rush hour. Three workdays straight now it's been in a brutal downpour. I mean traffic-slowing torrential downpours. Also, it seems the onset of summer brought with it the onset of bottleneck-at-the-bridge season on the Spaulding Turnpike between Newington and Dover. Really unpleasant, sitting in snail-traffic with water falling in sheets.

Yeah, boring topic. Boring week, and things were tense at work today. Sorry. Just trying to maintain a habit of regular blogging and still kind of feeling around for my voice. Also, I'm tired -- two and a half hours of sleep this morning and maybe a little more this afternoon. Don't know what my sleep problem is lately. Well, I suppose it might have to do with my unstable sleep schedule, what with a graveyard-shift weekend job and a weekday job that moves from day shift to night shift. Lots of times, I sleep in three- or four-hour increments. Even when I'm at my most fatigued.

Sorry for the ramble, but I am, after all, a ramblin' gal.
